Peeling back the layers, my figure loosens.
The tissue warps and ruptures; the absence of my exoform causes great relief. I feel catharsis from the nakedness when I know I should be ashamed. Though I’ve been broken into, the vulnerability feels like cool breezes on warm skin.

To make this piece, I used pieces of paper board, 3 layers to be exact. In the first (ground?) layer, I painted with oil paint the anatomical skull, with usage of dramatic lighting. In the second layer, I painted an imitation of the musculatory system for the face. I added an eye to the muscle system as well. On the third and final layer, I added the skin portion of the painting. After all the layers were completed, I took a hammer and smashed the skin and musculatory layers to reveal the slight skeletal base.
